J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) delegation proudly concluded the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) 2025 Sports and Socio-Cultural Friendship Games on October 31, 2025, with an impressive collection of medals across various athletic and sporting events, reflecting the college\u2019s unwavering dedication, teamwork, and spirit of excellence.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Leading the charge, JHCSC athletes bagged 15 gold medals, headlined by stellar performances in athletics, beach volleyball, dance sports, lawn tennis, basketball, and esports. Among the gold medalists were John Geonzon (110M High Hurdles), Jolly Joy S. Baroy (High Jump Women), and beach volleyball tandem Rey James A. Abasalo and Richard J. Recablangca, coached by Id Palahang. The dynamic duo of Julvia Mae Sabella and Khiel Ron Merontos, alongside partners Ernesto Medina and Jerwin Alcoseba, also captured gold in Dance Sports (Latin Category).<\/div>\n

Adding to the gold tally were the Esports (CODM-BR) team composed of Josh Ian Alegarbes, Logie Ivan Febrada, Almeje Jimenez, Adrian Paul Lagura, and Jhon Vincent Halaman, mentored by Coach Polo Abdulrahman and Assistant Coach Rex Baranda. Andrei Cuevas and Al Dree B. Pan likewise delivered golden victories in Lawn Tennis, under Coach Ninobel Canencia and Assistant Coach Kester Borling, while the Basketball 5v5 Men\u2019s Team, led by Coach Mark Marcial and Assistant Coach Jubie de Paz, added another gleaming gold to JHCSC\u2019s record.<\/div>\n

Silver medals also came in strong, with standout performances from Kent Declard B. Lagoy (Arnis), Godoberto R. Fuentenegra Jr. (Triple Jump), Paul Angelo Danganan and Matt Jarem P. Pano (Chess), and the Taekwondo representatives Jane Alota (Bantamweight) and John Paul Diansin (Flyweight).<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, JHCSC\u2019s bronze medalists added depth to the college\u2019s winning performance. Among them were Reymond D. Hermoso (Javelin Throw), El Noe C. Armada (Discus Throw), Gamaliel Cagais (Arnis), and Dance Sports pairs Lance Ogie Mangubat with Francine Vine Cordero, and Allen John Porsuelo with Loren Ibabao. The swimming team composed of Jhon Mark Andama, Sandy Rhea Repal, Dannieca Jon Caballero, Riza Mae Gonzalgo, and Shane Dag-uman also secured bronze medals in various categories, showcasing the college\u2019s versatility across disciplines.<\/div>\n

JHCSC\u2019s Taekwondo team further contributed to the bronze collection through James Buhion and the Poomsae Team of Jehannie Verunque, Diana Mae Calunod, and Margie Mu\u00f1ez, all trained under Coach Eric Lauron and Assistant Coach Mayflor G. Sildora.<\/div>\n

As the weeklong MASTS 2025 Friendship Games officially came to a close, JHCSC stood tall with pride and honor, carrying the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence that defines every Cerillesian. The college\u2019s athletes, coaches, and officials once again proved that unity, discipline, and determination can bring home not just medals, but the enduring pride of representing J.H. Cerilles State College on the Mindanao stage.<\/div>\n
