Cerilles State College (JHCSC), Mr. Jovert Entervencion Logronio, Ms. Apryll Jane B. Sabuclalo, Ms. Sittie Lyka Hasim Palwa, Ms. Jennifer Cordova Tan, and Ms. Glenn C. Claro, showcased their academic work at Salindunong 2025: The 3rd International and 17th National Conference on the Filipino Language, Literature, and Research, held from October 22 to 24, 2025. With the theme \u201cBorders and Belonging: Language, Literature, Culture in Transnational Contexts,\u201d the conference brought together scholars, educators, and students to explore how language and literature shape identity, culture, and social connections in both local and global contexts.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"postbody\">Mr. Logronio presented his study, \u201cPag-ibig, Pangako, at Pagdurusa: Isang Romantikong Pagbasa sa Limang Awitin ni Regine Velasquez,\u201d which offered a romantic reading of selected songs by the renowned Filipino singer, analyzing themes of love, promise, and heartache. His research highlighted how popular music reflects the emotional experiences of everyday Filipinos and resonates with broader cultural narratives.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"postbody\">Ms. Sabuclalao shared her study, \u201cLakas at Luhang Hinubog ng Tinig: Isang Feministang Pagsusuri sa mga Piling Awit ni Yeng Constantino,\u201d a feminist analysis of selected songs by Yeng Constantino. Her research explored how the singer\u2019s music conveys empowerment, struggle, and emotional expression, reflecting the evolving role of women\u2019s voices in contemporary Filipino culture.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"postbody\">Ms. Palwa presented her work, \u201cSosyolingguwistikong Pag-aaral sa Balbal: Epekto sa Komunikatibong Pagganap ng Kabataang Pilipino,\u201d examining how slang influences the communicative performance of Filipino youth. Ms. Tan\u2019s study, \u201cMga Salitang Pangnilalaman sa Piling Nobela,\u201d focused on content-specific vocabulary in selected novels, providing insight into language use and literary expression. Meanwhile, Ms. Claro\u2019s research, \u201cSuring Wika sa Musika: Isang Sosyolingguwistikong Pag-aaral sa Pormal na Wika sa Limang Piling Kanta ng mga Kontemporaryong OPM Artist (2021-2023),\u201d analyzed formal language in contemporary Original Pilipino Music, highlighting how linguistic choices shape meaning and audience reception.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"postbody\">The participation of these SGS student researchers highlighted JHCSC\u2019s commitment to fostering academic inquiry and cultural scholarship. Their studies not only explored the intersection of language, music, and literature but also contributed to ongoing conversations about Filipino identity, youth culture, and the social relevance of contemporary art forms.
