The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) conducted an earthquake drill on September 30, 2025, to enhance disaster preparedness and ensure campus-wide safety. The morning exercise was held at the Main Campus, with simultaneous sessions conducted at the Dumingag Campus, followed by another drill in the afternoon at the Pagadian Campus. The activity was spearheaded by Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) Director Mr. Jerry R. Redoblado and his team, with the support of Main Campus Director Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo, Dumingag Campus Director Dr. Moises Glenn Tangalin, and Pagadian Campus OIC-Director, Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor.<\/div>\n

The drills were conducted with the primary goal of equipping students, faculty, and staff with the proper knowledge and practical skills in the event of an earthquake. Participants were guided through the \u201cDuck, Cover, and Hold\u201d technique, followed by the safe and orderly evacuation of buildings. These steps underscored the importance of discipline, awareness, and coordinated action during emergencies.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Aside from developing evacuation procedures, the DRRMO team also demonstrated how to respond appropriately to injuries during disasters. The exercise highlighted the importance of first aid and emergency response skills, ensuring that the college community is prepared to assist individuals who may be hurt in the event of an earthquake. Mr. Redoblado emphasized that mastering these drills is essential to avoid accidents and save lives.<\/div>\n

Through this initiative, JHCSC reinforced its commitment to promoting a culture of safety and preparedness across all its campuses. The conduct of the earthquake drill not only tested the college\u2019s emergency protocols but also strengthened the community\u2019s readiness to face unforeseen natural calamities.<\/div>\n
