JHCSC joined the global community in celebrating World Tourism Day 2025 with the theme \u201cTourism and Sustainable Transformation\u201d on September 29, 2025, at the JHCSC Pagadian City Extension Campus Grounds. The celebration was spearheaded by the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students under the leadership of their program chair, Mr. Julie R. Cabalog, with the support of the Dean of the School of Business and Management (SBM), Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

In his message, Mr. Cabalog emphasized the vital role of tourism as a pillar of economic growth, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. He noted its impact on the global community and its significant contributions to rural areas. He further urged students to embrace sustainable practices, pointing out that through genuine collaboration, the full potential of tourism can be unlocked.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Building on this, Dean Mandac highlighted the broader essence of tourism in shaping communities and enriching cultural identity. He also shared JHCSC\u2019s plan to open a future tourism destination at the Dapiwak, Dumingag Campus called D\u2019PETALS (Dapiwak Protected Eco-Tourism-Agri Learning Site), which aims to promote sustainable tourism and serve as a model for agri-based learning, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. He then encouraged participants to value and promote the beauty of local tourist destinations.<\/div>\n

Aside from the formal messages, the BSTM students also prepared a short program that featured fun games, exciting prizes, and a presentation showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm.<\/div>\n

Through this celebration, JHCSC reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable initiatives and preparing students to become advocates of responsible tourism. The event also underscored the institution\u2019s dedication to cultivating global awareness while fostering pride in local heritage and environmental stewardship.<\/div>\n
