J.H. Cerilles State College- School of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Environmental Studies Faculty underwent Workshop on Organic Agriculture conducted by world-renowned scientist Dr. Teodoro “Ted” C. Mendoza held last February 1, 2020 at Hotel Alindahaw, Pagadian City.
Dr. Teodoro C. Mendoza, Professor 12 and UP Scientist 1 at the Crop Science Cluster, College of Agriculture (CA-CSC)-UP Los Baños , is a recipient of the Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia (AATSEA) Award for Agricultural Excellent Leader 2015 during the 4th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in Hanoi, Vietnam last Nov. 27-28, 2015.
For the last 3 decades, he is also an advocate and a practitioner of organic farming. As recognition to his field of research, he was invited as Plenary Speaker at the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM) held at Victoria, Canada in August, 2002.
JHCSC aims to include organic agriculture to its curriculum for students to advocate the production of chemical and pesticide-free produce that are beneficial to the consuming public’s health and restore balanced ecology which safeguards the environment.
Present during the workshop were the officials of JHCSC led by Pres. Mary Jocelyn V. Battung with VPAA Lina T. Codilla along with SAFES Dean Teonita Y. Velasco, Research Director Moises Glenn G. Tangalin as well as the Agriculture faculty from Dumingag and Main Campus.
