Last October 30, 2017, the 98 newly hired faculty were gathered at Hotel Alindahaw for the Orientation Program for Newly Hired Faculty. Atty. Mario Jose T. Cunting, Director II of Civil Service Commission Region IX graced the event as the guest speaker.
A number of instructors were added to the JH Cerilles State College teaching force. This is in preparation to the growing population of the college as the K-12 program first batch of graduates will move to college this school year 2018-2019. Also, it is anticipated that the incoming college freshmen will avail the privileges of RA 10931, Free Tertiary Education.
Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, JHCSC President, welcomed the newly hired faculty with a challenge to be active and be fully engaged in the institution’s activities for the improvement and leveling up of the college. He said that the number of newly hired faculty is a great help and support to reaching the goals of the college especially that during the screening and interview, each was asked of their special talents and add-on skills which can be used aside from their expertise in teaching.
Atty. Cunting presented and explained RA 6713 – Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of Government Employees to the newly hired. The discussions included the privileges that government employees can avail and as well as the possible consequences of not abiding to the standards set by the Civil Service Commission.
Dr. Joean Palahang, Faculty and Staff Association (FASA) President, discussed the contents of the faculty manual.
The 97 newly hired faculty were distributed to the organic campuses: sixty three (63) were assigned to Main Campus, thirty two (32) to Dumingag, and two (2) to Canuto. In the uniqueness of the JHCSC setup, due to a great number of External Study Unit (ESU) distributed all throughout the province, some of the newly hired will serve as liaison officers to the ESUs. This is to properly monitor records and activities of the ESUs.
The Human Resource Management Officer – Designate, distributed the assignment order to the new members of the JHCSC family.
The Supervising Administrative Officer, Mrs. Adelina Ursaiz, closed the event with a grateful heart.
