After almost four years of waiting to publish a student magazine or newsletter, this one finally came. Never mind the excuses, the thing is, it is finally out. It is apt and fitting that the magazine is named “The Journey”. This magazine will be the periodical that will record the journey of JHCSC, as an institution which includes the administration and the stakeholders.
Life is a journey. It can also be said about JHCSC. In my journey as your College President since 2014, the road was not always smooth; in fact, throughout my travels, I have encountered many challenges. Some of these challenges test my courage, strengths, weaknesses, and faith. Along the way, I might have stumbled upon obstacles that came between the paths that I am destined to take. In order to follow the right path, I have to overcome these obstacles. Sometimes these obstacles were really blessings in disguise, only I didn’t realize that during those times. Nevertheless, the four- year journey with JHCSC was indeed a milestone in my life. My presidency would be a boring journey without a good dose of friendship to color my world. My friends are my strength when I am weak, happiness when sad and companions when lonely. This magazine’s issue and the next, I hope, will become footprints of my awesome journey with JHCSC.
As a landmark of JHCSC’s journey, the implementation of Universal Access for Quality Tertiary Education has started though met with many challenges. The articles and the genres here written may not absolutely capture all the voices of JHCSC on Republic Act 10931. From my assumption and observation since its initial implementation last year up to this first semester of SY 2018, the general impression is that it has greatly helped our Zambosurians. Like in life there is no perfect journey, but what counts most is that we persevere and continue to move forward. Let us make the most out of RA 10931.
To the working team of this issue of “The Journey”, though this issue is just the initial step, keep moving forward, there is no stopping now, Bahalag hinay basta kanunay! Like Team JHCSC Green Hornets…gagmay pero yayay.
